With around 550 employees in Qatar, Siemens W.L.L. contributes to transmitting and distributing more than 60 percent of the country’s power. It also facilitates electricity and water generation through one of the largest projects in the region, which will help boost the country’s electricity output by more than 23 percent and water supply by over 25 percent by 2018.
More than 200 buildings across Qatar are equipped with digital building technology from Siemens, with 55,000 sensors and one million data points helping to make infrastructure safe, comfortable and efficient.
Siemens W.L.L. supports many education and training initiatives in Qatar, hiring a large percentage of its workforce from local universities. The company is a resident member of the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), developing a local Research and Development center to kick-start 10 cutting-edge R&D projects, with patent applications now pending.
